1797 – Founding of Nolensville

William Nolen, a Revolutionary War veteran, founded Nolensville in 1797. Settling in the area with his family, he laid the foundation for a community that would thrive for generations.

1839 – Initial Incorporation of Nolensville

Nolensville was first incorporated in 1839, marking the formal establishment of the town and setting the stage for its future growth and development.

1862 – The Battle of Nolensville

On December 26, 1862, Nolensville saw a Civil War skirmish as Union and Confederate forces clashed on Nolensville Pike. This event marked the town’s connection to the broader conflict of the era.

1996 – Re-incorporation of Nolensville

Nolensville was re-incorporated in 1996, reinforcing its governance structures and redefining its community to better meet the needs of its residents.

2023 – Rezoning for Nolensville Town Square

In March 2023, Nolensville updated its zoning code to allow for higher-density development, introducing the Village Overlay district. This change paved the way for the Nolensville Town Square project, a 27-acre mixed-use development featuring residential units and commercial spaces.
